Tribute to 215 children

My last post about healing childhood trauma came just as the news of 215 children were found buried in a mass grave at a Kamloops Residential School (Made public May 27, 2021 by Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation's Chief, Rosanne Casimir). I felt the news of this deeply. If you heard the news of this, you may share the grief of those estimated 215 indigenous children. As I am writing this, more pressure has been put on the Catholic Church to acknowledge the wrongs they did, and to properly investigate this and the other 130+ residential schools for the crimes committed. I can only hope for a just outcome.

When things like this are unearthed, it brings about a series of changes. Like when a spiritual awakening happens, it seems like the world is going to end, but what is really happening is all the stuff that got buried away (stuff that already happened, or are happening) are now literally coming to the surface to be dealt with. Humanity has come so far in raising the overall vibration of the collective that things like this are no longer going to be acceptable, or 'covered up.' It can't be. More mass graves are going to be discovered (The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and The Missing Children Project has identified over 4100 missing children that died while in attendance of residential schools), and more horrific crimes elsewhere will also be surfaced in due time. It's going to be, and already is, a bumpy, but sadly necessary ride.

"More mass graves are going to be discovered, and more horrific crimes elsewhere will also be surfaced in due time."

I grieved for the 215 children and those who haven't yet been found, and as I did so I gained access to memories from a residential school. The things they did to innocent children just for being who they were born to be, speaking their own language, or wanting to eat food from their culture, using their own name, or refusing to kneel and pray... I have no words. These were nuns, priests, teachers, all authority figures the rest of the world would have normally deemed as trustworthy and certainly not capable of harming children. Unfortunately, these are only some of the positions of power that are abused on a daily basis to commit all manners of horrible things to children and families around the world to this day. And it has to stop.

I have the wonderful advantage of being a mother, and I get to take it upon myself to stop the generational cycle of abuse for my daughter. My parents were not abusive by any means, but if you've read my last post about healing childhood trauma, you will understand that there are things that can be passed down through your lineage, past life ancestors, past lives, etc. Healing childhood trauma is not a 'one and done' thing. You do it over and over until all the children of your past are safe, valued, and loved. I had to do this for the child in me that was murdered in a residential school. I will continue to do this as more children in my own past are uncovered and need help.

"To all the children harmed in residential schools, the survivors or the lost, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry."

I can only ask you to do the same. Do the work and heal yourself so this cycle can end and we can air out all the wrongs of our past. We know more now than we did even 30 years ago. Take responsibility and heal yourself. When you make that decision, I would be happy to help.

To all the children harmed in residential schools, the survivors or the lost, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I am so sorry you were treated unfairly, your needs were not met, you were forced to do things that caused you to lose faith in the world around you. I have so much respect for you, to be the ones to take on this burden in order for the rest of the world to understand the darkness you had to endure. I honor your sacrifices, and I will do everything in my power to continue to make decisions of the light so I can help others do the same. We will not make the same mistakes, so please rest easier, knowing we will come out the other side of this and we will do better.

I am not paid for any links shared on this blog. I am only passing along information regarding the recent events of the discovery of the buried 215 children. If you wish to learn more about the dead and missing children, I encourage you to visit https://nctr.ca/memorial/national-student-memorial/ and look up your local residential school. There are still investigations ongoing to provide the names and date of deaths for every student in each school, but the list is already extensive. Please prompt your local government officials to put pressure on the appropriate organizations (ie. Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, United Church, Presbyterian Church, etc.) of nearby residential schools to disclose ALL documents and demand FULL transparency of what happened in those schools as well as the charging and prosecution of the staff at residential schools, alive or deceased.

If you wish, please download this template to send to your local government official:
